"I was with this insurance company for 10+ years. It was great until this last year. Hard to get ahold of Phil as he is the only agent in the office. The receptionist are not understanding or helpful. I would think twice before signing up through this agency. I had to call THREE times to cancel my policy, which was never actually done and I was charged anyway. I had to have my new insurance agent call to stand up for me. Thank goodness for Allstate."
"It's unfortunate that sometimes actions requested do not occur in the time frame that the client feels are reasonable and timely. Our office takes these concerns seriously and we utilize them to learn and review our current office policy and procedures to avoid future situations. The perception sometimes is that the systems we utilize to make changes, additions and other requests are done so on a live system. However, they are not. They are submitted live, but they take time to process. When requests are received and submitted, they are received into the company system the next business day. These requests are then reviewed and then processed. This unfortunately takes sometimes days if not weeks. That being said in this case our office received the request to cancel the policies on January 4th, 2023 and was sent into the company on that same day. The company would then receive them the following day January 5th. The other problem arose when a client has an auto pay payment method in place, this requires a 3-business day advance notice to stop any auto pay from coming out. The system tried to take the scheduled withdrawal it normally takes if the policies were to remain in force. However, no money was taken from the account. The policyholder did not lose any money and the payment request was rejected. Since one system of cancelation had not yet communicated with the billing system, an automatic billing statement did go to the policyholder informing them the payment was rejected and advising them a payment was needed to maintain the policies in place. Mrs. Truscott contacted our office on Friday the 20th of January when she received this notice and left a message to return her call. At the very time I was calling her back later that afternoon, her new agent with Allstate was calling to inquire if anything was needed to get the policies canceled. I hung up the phone not quite finishing my message on Mrs. Truscott's voice mail and took the Allstate agents call. I spoke to both her and Mrs. Truscott (conference call) and explained the above to them and that there was no money taken and that nothing was owed, and the system was just slow to process the request to cancel. I offered Mrs. Truscott the option to submit any bank or other financial charges they may have incurred because of the auto pay attempt. She said that nothing had been charged. I take full responsibility for the actions in my office as well as any miscommunication that took place throughout this situation. I want to apologize for any inconvenience the Truscott's may have experienced and want to thank them for the privilege of allowing us to serve their family all those years. I want to also note that I pride myself on being readily available to my clients not only during normal business hours, but after hours via email, text and even having my mobile phone number available and announced on my office voicemail and after-hours messages.
